Great tradition and a good reputation start with excellent leadership and The Carpet Shop is not an exception. The company was founded by Mr. Wilson Farr in 1957 as the first specialty flooring store in the Augusta and Central Savannah River Area. Mr. Farr worked in the retail furniture industry, and like other visionaries of his generation saw an opportunity as the carpet industry was bringing economic flooring choices to America’s consumers for the first time in history. Mr. Farr’s vision became The Carpet Shop and the company is historically ranked as one of the largest 75 specialty flooring companies and one of the top 15 Flooring America associated stores in the country.

The Carpet Shop is currently led by Mr. Bill Farr and his partner Mr. Danny Williams. These two men lead by example and their reputation in our industry is second to none. Their collective knowledge of business, flooring, and leadership is the most valuable resource of The Carpet Shop. And yes, the third generation of family owners has already been in training for over a decade.

Our products include the finest lines of Rugs, Carpet, Wood, Vinyl, Laminates, and Ceramic Tile available. We use our buying power to bring the best values and the best flooring products to our customers. The Carpet Shop only represents product lines we can stand behind. Flooring installations are expected to last for years if not decades and our customers expect us to be their advocates when there is a service or warranty issue. The Carpet Shop will not sell a flooring product if the manufacturer has exhibited a weakness in supporting their warranty obligations.
